Escambia Academy graduates move their tassels during Thursday’s graduation, symbolically displaying the completion of their high school careers.

The 26 members of the Class of 2014 graduated from Escambia Academy on Thursday evening at Bachelor Field.

Grayson Emmons was the salutatorian, and Abby Akins was the valedictorian.

State Rep. Harry Shiver was the guest speaker, and told the graduates that they should set lofty goals in their adult lives, and strive to make their community better.

“Not all of you are going to be running Apple,” he said. “Not all of you are going to be senators. But every one of you can make a difference.”
