A Walmart employee helped locate the wallet, which had already been discarded. However, all of the cash had been taken.

The shopper returned to the store and asked for the police’s assistance. APD Officers Cody Nall and Andy Taylor responded to the Walmart, and viewed the security camera footage at the time of the theft.

The officers searched the area, looking for the vehicle and suspect that was identified by the security footage. The vehicle was located at the Muskogee Inn, as was the person responsible for the theft of the cash.

According to the APD press release, the officers questioned the suspect, who admitted to the theft and returned the cash to the shopper.

The victim did not wish to pursue any charges, according to the APD.
