Federal court stays Madison execution

According to media reports, a federal court of appeals stayed tonight’s execution of Vernon Madison at Holman Correctional Facility.

Madison was set to be put to death for the murder of a Mobile cop in 1985.

The U.S. 11th Circuit Court of Appeals granted the stay, according to reports.
