Atmore Mayor Jim Staff recently signed a proclamation declaring this Sat., Nov. 26, as Small Business Saturday for the city.

According to the United States Small Business Administration, there are 28.8 million small businesses in the U.S., and they represent 99.7 percent of all businesses with employees in the country.

These small businesses are responsible for 63 percent of net new jobs created over the past 21 years, according to the proclamation.
