The Atmore Area Chamber of Commerce is looking for teams for the 14th annual Taste of the South event, which will be held on Thurs., Sept. 21 at Heritage Park.

Chamber Executive Director Sheryl Vickery said those whose organizations or restaurants would like to participate can call the chamber at 251-368-3305.

“It’s always a lot of fun,” she said.

The fundraiser, originally conceived from a Leadership Atmore class and now sponsored by the chamber, is an event where local restaurants, businesses, non-profits and cooks offer samples of some of their best dishes. The tasters judge their favorites.

Four different awards — Best Amateur Taste, Best Commercial Taste, Best Dessert and Best Decorated Booth — will be given out to the winners.

Tickets, which are $10 each, can be purchased at the chamber office and from any chamber ambassador. The chamber ambassadors are Andrew Howell, Austin Williams,
