The special general election for Alabama’s U.S. Senate spot is nearing.

On Tues., Dec. 12, voters will decide between Roy Moore, a republican, and Doug Jones, a democrat.

In recent news, the former Alabama Chief Justice of the Supreme Court has had several allegations of sexual misconduct. He was campaigning in Fort Payne on Monday.

Jones has been outspending and running more TV ads than Moore, according to reports.

Polling places for the Atmore area include:

• Canoe Civic Club

• Little Rock Store

• Poarch Seils Center

• McCullough Volunteer Fire Department

• Atmore City Hall

• New Order Baptist Church

• Nokomis Voting House

Voters who aren’t sure about where they will be voting or don’t have a copy of their voter ID card, can call the board of registrars office at 251-867-0243.
