In 2002, Lamar White began a trusting, 16-year relationship with a Ford F-250 Super Duty truck.

Lamar, who works in maintenance for Diamond Gasoline, had to part ways with the F-250 and climb into a new 2018 Ford F-150 recently.

“He still talks about the durability of that truck,” Roy White Jr., Diamond Gasoline Station’s president said.

At the time Lamar had to transition to his new truck, the F-250 compiled 776,000 miles on the odometer.

Roy said the truck’s age and upkeep became factors to warrant a new one.

Lamar recalls the first time he saw the F-250.

“I thought it was a good looking truck,” Lamar said. “That’s been the trustiest truck.”

Lamar said in his role in maintenance, he drove around a lot, from area gas stations to even one in Demopolis.

When asked what the key was to keeping the truck going, Lamar said regular maintenance on the truck was big.

Lamar said he wanted to see if he could drive the F-250 until it reached 1 million miles.

“I’d still be in it if I could drive it,” he said. “That’s been a real dependable, tough truck.”
