Atmore Public Library has wifi to go.

The local library is offering a hotspot lending program for patrons who need the service, Director Hope Lassiter said in a release.

Lassiter said the mobile hotspots can be checked out by persons 18 and older for one week, with no renewals.

She said a $25 refundable deposit must be paid at the time the devices are checked out, and a library card and photo ID are required to check them out.

Service to the devices will be cancelled if they are overdue, and borrowers must sign a user agreement before checking one of the hotspots out for the first time, she said.

In other news, the library is also offering Playaway Launchpads, which are devices that are pre-loaded with various apps for preschoolers. The pads don’t require a wifi connection, and are available. The lending period for the pads is 14 days, and only one device may be borrowed at a time, and can’t be renewed.

The Wee Ones story time kicked off on Sept. 6 at the library. The program is for children from birth to school age, and is held every Thursday at 10 a.m.

Additionally, the adult reading program is held every Wednesday at 10 a.m. in September.
