A Frisco City man was arrested Oct. 29 on drug charges, according to the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office.

Chief Deputy Mike Lambert said Waymon Paul Morrison, 29, has been charged with possession of a controlled substance. He is still in the county detention center on a $5,000 bond, and is on hold for drug court.

Lambert said at approximately 10:50 p.m., Deputy Sam Weeks responded to a complaint of trespassing at a residence on Blackwell Lane in Atmore.

Lambert said when Weeks arrived, a Poarch police officer was already on scene, talking to the male subject (Morrison) who was trespassing.

Lambert said Weeks asked for consent to search Morrison’s vehicle after the subject stated that there might be an eight ball of methamphetamines in the vehicle in a pink shirt in the back seat.

Lambert said a clear plastic bag with a crystal-like substance wrapped in a pink shirt was found, and Morrison was then detained.

Additionally, Lambert said after making contact with the drug court, it was determined that Morrison was in the program.

Lambert said the crystal-like substance was field tested, and it was positive for meth.
