Man charged in shooting

An Atmore man was arrested for attempted murder after allegedly shooting toward a vehicle at a residence on Jack Springs Road on Jan. 22, according to police officials.

Chief Chuck Brooks said in a release that Marcus Flowers, 24, of Atmore, was arrested on attempted murder charges stemming from an argument that ensued.

Brooks said APD officers arrived on scene of the residence in response to a subject shooting at a vehicle.

“Atmore Police Officers arrived on scene and spoke with a female victim who said she was talking with her child’s father when an argument ensued,” he said. “The female victim state she was at the Jack Springs Road location to pick up some clothing when the verbal altercation started.”

Brooks said the victim stated that Flowers began shooting at her as she was driving away. The victim wasn’t injured, he said.

Flowers was transported to the Escambia County Detention Center.
