The intersection currently has a sign, but it’s too difficult for people to see, he said.

“It’s a bad intersection there especially when it’s foggy, and I think that’s what happened to a lady yesterday,” said Smith. “It was just so foggy that she couldn’t see the sign. We need a better sign out there.”

There have been a total of three wrecks at that intersection in the past six months, one including a 17-year-old boy.

“The last one was a 17-year-old boy, and I was actually there,” said Commissioner Scottie Stewart. “He was really lucky because he didn’t even hit the brakes. By the time he realized he was off the highway, he had cleared the road.”

The commissioners agreed that the intersection does need a better sign. No completion date has been released at this time.
