Brewton police arrested five residents over the past week on a variety of drug charges — but they are seeking two more suspects.

The arrests came as a result of the fall meeting of the Escambia County Grand Jury and were made following an undercover operation by the Brewton Police Department’s narcotics division.

• Eddie DeWayne Smith II, 18, was charged with unlawful distribution of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of marijuana, first degree.

• Andrew Robert Terry, 19, was charged with two counts of unlawful distribution of a controlled substance and two counts of unlawful possession of marijuana, first degree.

• Marcus Deonte Jones, 23, was charged with unlawful distribution of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of marijuana, first degree.

• Kevin Orlando McCall, 24, was charged with unlawful distribution of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of a controlled substance.

• Jerry Samuel, 38, was charged with unlawful distribution of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of a controlled substance.

Lt. Bryan Davis, director of the Brewton Police Narcotics Division, said two other individuals are being sought on similar charges.

“We are seeking two other individuals on warrants,” Davis said. “We are asking for the help of the public in arresting these two drug dealers.”

Police are searching for Lester Mark Piland, 46, of East Brewton and Dominique Dewayne Dixon, 24, of Brewton.

Piland is wanted on warrants for unlawful distribution of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of a controlled substance.

Dixon has warrants for his arrest on three counts of unlawful distribution of a controlled substance and three counts of unlawful possession of marijuana, first degree.

Davis said the department is working continuously to arrest those responsible for illegal drug activity in an effort to keep the residents of the area safe.

“With all of these drug dealers off of our streets our children will be much safer,” Davis said. “All of these drug dealers sold within a half mile from a school.”

Davis said assistance from the 21st Judicial Circuit District Attorney’s office was instrumental in making these cases.

Each of those arrested was taken to the Escambia County Detention Center where they were booked on charges.

Terry is being held on a $200,000 bond. Smith, Jones, McCall and Samuel are each being held on $100,000 bonds.
