ATMORE – On Thursday evening Aug. 16, 2012, Apostle Cleveland Salter answered the call of God and exchanged his earthly home down here to be with the Lord in his heavenly mansion above.

Pastor Salter was born July 18, 1948 in Evergreen and was the eldest of son of the late William and Laura

Kyles. He answered the call of God and was saved in March 1976 and served the Lord faithfully in the ministry from that time forward, as pastor, preacher and teacher. The ministry was his life and legacy.

In his passing, he leaves to cherish his memories: his loving and devoted wife whom he called his “Sunshine and Joy”, Evangelist Patricia Salter; his loving and devoted mother, Ms. Laura Kyles of Summerdale; three sons, Darryl (Pamela) Salter of Fairhope, Ronald Holmes of Foley and Scottie Baldwin of Milwaukee, Wis.; four daughters, Sherryl (Bruce) Payne of Fairhope, Laurette (Hernandez) Travis of Fairhope, Wanda Maye of Foley and Marcie Baldwin of Milwaukee, Wis.; one brother, Deacon Laferry (Tamara) Kyles of Summerdale; six sisters, Ruthie Packer of Foley, Patricia Kyles of Summerdale, Stephanie Green of Daphne, Beauteria Kyles of Foley, Tina (Ronald) Washington of Foley and Arnette Kyles of Summerdale; two step-sons, Cartise (Shawanda) Poindexter of Century, Fla. and Cedric Poindexter of Atmore; mother-in-law, Pastor Isabell Brazzell of Atmore; four sister-in-laws, Diane (Charlie) Caldwell of Lithonia, Ga., Lisa (Jarrod) Daniels of Hattiesburg, Miss., Ora (Rev. Freddie)

Banks and Catrina Williams, both of Atmore; four brother-in-laws, Cecil Ephraim and Joseph Hall, Sr. both of Lithonia, Ga., Arthur (Jennifer) Hill of Camden and Jerry (Sandra) Hill of Pensacola, Fla.; aunt, Beatrice Ephraim “BeataBee’ of Atmore; seven nieces, seven nephews, 24 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, a host of other aunts, uncles, relatives and friends, as well as his devoted Church family,

Funeral services will be Saturday, Aug. 25, 2012 with visitation from 10 a.m. until the 12 p.m. funeral hour at Bay Minette Civic Center, 303 D’Olive Street in Bay Minette. Interment will be held in Fairview Memorial Gardens in Atmore. Visitation will be held at 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. Aug. 24, 2012 at Mayberry
