James Marcus Harrison

WALNUT HILL, Fla. – Mr. James Marcus ‘Mark’ Harrison, 82 of Walnut Hill, Fla., passed away on Friday, Aug. 24, 2012 at his home after an extended illness.

Mr. Harrison was a native of Monroe County and a longtime resident of Walnut Hill where he was a salesman and owner of Harrison’s Furniture and Upholstery for 55 years.  He was a veteran of the United States Army, having served ten years.  In February of 1974, Mr. Harrison gave his life to the Lord at Atmore Baptist Temple and in later years, he attended Pleasant Home Holiness Church in Flomaton.

He was also a member of the National Rifle Association.

Survivors include his wife of 37 years, Joyce Findley Harrison of Walnut Hill, Fla.; sisters, Louise Annette Long of Canoe and Nellie House of Pensacola, Fla.; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other family members, friends and his beloved pets and companions, Milo and Bella.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 26, 2012 at Flomaton Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. G.W. Birdsong and Bro. Wilbur Graves officiating. Interment followed in Pleasant Home Holiness Church Cemetery. Visitation was held at 1 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 26, 2012 prior to the funeral hour.

Pallbearers were Chris Christian, Chris Ales, Mike House, Jason Findley, Dennis Nowling and Brian Richburg.
