Retired Navy Chief Murry L. Easley

Retired Navy Chief Murry L.Easley, 85, of Atmore, passed away Jan. 9, 2013 at his residence.

Murry was born Oct. 2, 1927 to the late Charlie and Minnie Easley. Upon graduation from high school he joined the United States Navy where he served for over 22 years. On his retirement from the Navy he was employed at NASA in 1971 to work for the Federal Aviation Administration until his retirement in 1990.

He leaves behind his devoted wife Georgette Easley, four sons, Russell, Stephen, Kenneth and Michael; one daughter, Cynthia and two stepsons, Billy and Gary Mims.

Murry was a member of the Fleet Reserve Association for over 35 years. He served as the southeast regional president and upon formation of the South Central Region he was elected as its first regional president.

Memorial Services will be held Saturday, Jan. 12, 2013 at 10 a.m. from the Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Doug Odom officiating.  A private Internment will follow at Barrancas National Cemetery in Pensacola, Fla. at a later date.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to a charity of your choice.
