The Escambia County High School Blue Devils’ baseball team lost on the road to Vigor Monday night.

The Blue Devils were held to three hits on the night and couldn’t get anything going offensively, said coach Gavin King.

“It’s just frustrating because we could’ve won we any offense at all,” he said.

Starting pitcher Malcolm Black threw four innings, but was relieved by Nytorious Cooler after 70 pitches to save his arm, King said.

Black gave up only two runs. The Wolves got five hits total in the game, but Blue Devil pitchers allowed too many walks, King said.

The game was tied at three each in the bottom of the sixth inning when Vigor got it’s best hit of the night, a two-run double that sealed the win.

The loss dropped ECHS to 1-2 on the year.

The Blue Devils played J.U. Blackshear Tuesday, but results weren’t available as of press time.

ECHS then travels to LeFlore on Thursday at 5:30 and travels to B.C. Rain for a doubleheader Saturday starting at 11 a.m.
