The seven teams participating in this year’s Babe Ruth Softball League will take the field Saturday, May 4 for opening day.

The ceremony will coincide with Atmore’s MayFest. The games will begin at 9 a.m. with opening day ceremonies kicking off at 10:15 a.m.

“We are so proud of our parents and supporters for giving these the opportunity to enjoy softball and stay active,” said league president Shirley Simpkins. “Some of these girls will develop a lifelong love of the sport and others will just enjoy it as a summer recreational activity.”
