Clinton Felder

ATMORE – Mr. Clinton Felder, Sr., 81, of Atmore, transitioned into eternity on Friday, June 14, 2013, at his residence.

He was a native of Castleberry (Conecuh Co.) and a longtime resident of Atmore. He served his country in the U.S. Army and worked as a correctional officer at Fountain Correctional Institution. He was a longtime member of the Liberty Missionary Baptist Church where he was a deacon and member of the Sunday school.

Those left to cherish his legacy are three daughters, Linda (the Rev. Humphrey ) Shuford and Hilda York both,  of Atmore and Elvira (Vincent) Cunningham of Birmingham; four sons, Roderick (Veronica) Felder, Clinton Felder, Jr., and Clayton (Reace) Felder, all of Atmore  and DeAngelo Stots of Queens, N.Y.; two sisters, Madelle Andrews and Mildred Lykes both of Atmore; 28 grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren .

Public viewing will be Friday from 2 until 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Funeral service will be  at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 22, 2013, at the Liberty Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Edward Sanders, eulogist, and the Rev. Isaac Bradley, host pastor. Inhumation with military honors will be in Fairview Cemetery. His body will lie in state at the church from 10 a.m. until funeral service time with Turner Funeral Chapel, LLC. directing.
