Some elderly citizens can get free tax help

The Escambia County Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) is offering free tax counseling for the elderly.

This is a free tax preparation program for citizens ages 60 or above who have a combined income of $51,000 or below. Those providing the free assistance are IRS certified preparers.

• Atmore City Hall — Thursdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

• Brewton Public Library — Mondays and Wednesdays, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

• Flomaton Public Library — Fridays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

• Poarch Creek Indian reservation — Tuesdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
