Johnnie Lee Philyaw, 76, of Repton, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 25, 2014, in Brewton.

He was a logger, born in Atmore on Jan. 21, 1938, to the late John Wesley and Martha Lister Philyaw.

His two wives, Dorothy Mae Philyaw and Emma Philyaw; one brother, Orlion Lee Philyaw and one sister, Mary Sue Harris preceded him in death.

Survivors are three sons, William (Every) Philyaw of Century, Fla., and J.W. Philyaw. and James Philyaw, both of Repton; and grandchildren, Jason Philyaw, Angel Philyaw, Larry Philyaw, Cheyenne Philyaw, Dalton Philyaw, J.W. Philyaw Jr., Dorothy Philyaw and Rosa Philyaw.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 28, from the New Haven Holiness Church in Lenox, with Pastor Randy Steadman officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Vernon Lambeth, John Lenio, David Lenio, J.W. Philyaw Jr., Jason Philyaw and Billy Bartlett.

Family will receive friends from 5 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 27, at New Haven Holiness Church from until service time on Friday, Feb. 28.

Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home, Inc., is in charge of all arrangements.
