Herbert C. Guy

Herbert C. Guy, 85, of Robinsonville, passed away Thursday Nov. 6, 2014, at his residence.

He was retired from International Paper Corp. as a machine operator, born in Clarke County on April 9, 1929, to the later Eli Carlton and Minnie Gates Guy. He served in the U.S. Army in the Korean War and was a member of Canoe Methodist Church.

He is preceded in death by seven brothers and sisters.
Survivors are his wife, Annie Lambert Guy; three sons, Carlies Daniel (Brenda) Guy, Thomas (Melanie) Guy and Richard Neal (Kristie) Guy; one daughter, Peggy (Freddy) Lambeth all of Robinsonville; one brother, Bill (Earline) Guy of Birmingham; eight grandchildren, Jason (Melanie) Guy, Traveis (Georgia) Guy, Natalie (Mark) Rodgers, Brittiany (Josh) Odom, Tyler (Shay) Guy, Aaron Guy, Dee Guy and Michael Lambeth and eight great-grandchildren, Bailey, Gavin, Payton, Noah, Lorelie, Max, Klayton and Blaklyn.

Services were held at 2:30 pm. Saturday, Nov. 8, from Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. William Armstrong officiating. Interment followed in Canoe Methodist Cemetery. The family received friends from 1:30 pm. until the 2:30 p.m. service time at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home.

Active pallbearers were his grandchildren.

Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home, Inc., was in charge of all arrangements.
