Members of the 2014 Escambia Academy football team received their state championship rings during a banquet held Thursday, March 12, at Wind Creek Casino & Hotel.

State Rep. Alan Baker presented the team with a resolution from the State House of Representatives, commemorating EA’s achievement.

The Cougars won the AISA Class AAA state title by defeating Bessemer Academy 35-28 on Friday, Nov. 21. The 2014 EA team, which finished with a record of 11-1, won the first football championship in the school’s history.
