James Franklin

James Willis (Jim) Franklin, born Feb. 6, 1941, a longtime resident of Pensacola, Fla., passed away peacefully Friday, June 21, 2015, surrounded by his family and friends.

Jim was Vice President of Lending at Harvesters Federal Credit Union and had an extensive finance career that spanned more than 45 years. He was a 32nd degree Mason and member of the Hadji Shriners of Pensacola, where he was a past Treasurer of the Temple, and member of the Finance Committee and Director’s Staff.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Genise Franklin.

Jim is survived by his loving wife, Cuba Griffin Franklin; his father, William Neal Franklin; his son, Ron and Roseann Franklin; his daughter, Sherry and Thomas Jones; his son, Kristopher and Melissa Franklin; his son, Rock Tolbert and Jackie Kelly; brother, Lavonne Bonnie and Faye Franklin; brother, William Michael Franklin; his six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; as well as countless cherished friends and colleagues.

A celebration of life service was held at Faith Chapel North, 1000 South Highway 29, in Cantonment, Fla., Friday, June 26, at 7 p.m., with visitation from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m.

To continue his wishes, in lieu of flowers, a memorial contribution may be made to the Shriners Children’s Hospital, Shriners International, 2900 N Rocky Point Drive, Tampa, FL 33607, or the Shriners Crippled Children’s Transportation Fund, 800 West Nine Mile Road, Pensacola, FL 32534.
