Members of Perdido Middle School’s Beta Club, under the direction of sponsor, Mrs. Mary Grabill, have been busy with two fund raisers just before Thanksgiving. The purpose of these fund raisers is to raise money to help a needy family at Christmas. This is their main service project for the year. Selling “Turkey Grams” (paper turkey cut-outs with a sucker attached) were sold each morning the week before Thanksgiving, and were delivered on Friday morning. Children were able to buy them for friends, teachers or family, as a “Happy Thanksgiving” wish. Another annual favorite activity Beta Club sponsors is “Jersey Day”. Students dress out of uniform for $1.00, wearing their favorite team’s jersey, with proceeds from both fund raisers going to help a family have a nicer Christmas.
