It was a close call for the Escambia County Lady Eagles Monday night as they narrowly defeated the St. Paul’s Lady Saints 27-24 Monday night in Mobile.

The Lady Eagles (2-0) dominated the first quarter of the game outscoring the Lady Saints 8-0.

St. Paul’s bounced back in the second period to close the gap to three points as they outscored the Lady Eagles 9-4 taking the game to halftime with ECMS ahead 12-9.

Ater halftime, the Lady Eagles extended their lead over St. Paul’s scoring 10 points and going into the final quarter ahead 22-15.

In the final quarter, the Lady Saints fought back outscoring ECMS 8-5, but still falling 27-24 to the visitors.

Nicole Johnson led the Lady Eagles with 10 points.
