ECMS Eagles triumphant over Daphne 40-16

Escambia County Middle School destroyed the Daphne Trojans 40-16 in their match up on Thursday night at Escambia County Middle School.

The Eagles (6-3) dominated both ends of the court as they blasted Daphne.

In the first quarter, the Eagles held the Trojans scoreless as they took the lead 7-0.

In the second quarter, the Eagles continued to pour on the points as they outscored Daphne 15-3 to take a 22-3 lead into the break.

Following halftime, the momentum stayed with the Eagles as they outscored the Trojans 6-5 in the third quarter and 12-8 in the fourth period to pick up the 40-16 win.

Eagles head coach Robert Smith said his team put on a strong performance.

“Our guys played a great game,” he said. “We had a balance of scoring from our starters and our bench and we played at a fast pace.”

TyAnthony McNeal led the Eagles with nine points and also had two assists.

Jerome Webster finished the game with eight points, while recording nine rebounds, five assists and four steals.
