PENSACOLA, Fla. – Alexander Holder Jr., 79, of Pensacola, Fla. passed away on Jan. 1, 2011 at the Specialty Center of Pensacola.

He was born on Oct. 10, 1931 in Peterman to Alex and Ida Simpson Holder. He graduated from Atmore High School and from Auburn University. He served in the Army National Guard. He was a devoted member of Innerarity Point Church in Pensacola.

His parents; a daughter, Brenda Holder; a son, Jeff Holder; a brother, John holder and a sister, Nell Holder, preceded him in death.

He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Martha Boone Holder; daughter, Terry Kropp (Eric); son, Mark Holder (Stephanie); daughter-in-law, Laura Holder; eight grandchildren; three great granddaughters; sisters, Vera Lindauer (Charles), Helen McKenzie (William); brother, Jim Holder (Lois) and their families.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Jan. 5, 2011 at Faith Chapel South with the Rev. Tim Coleman officiating. Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2011 at Faith Chapel Funeral Home South, located at 100 Beverly Pkwy.
