Despite a lack of offense from the charity stripe, the Escambia County Lady Blue Devils were able to extend their winning streak.

The Lady Blue Devils (10-10, 2-2) shot 3-of-15 from the free-throw line, but still came away with a 49-32 win over the Hillcrest Lady Jaguars.

Lady Blue Devils head coach Lorenzo Jones said his team was lucky to get the win.

“We really don’t have a lot of good to talk about,” he said. “We didn’t do anything that we worked on in practice and we took a step back in turnovers. Our free throw shooting was poor. We thank God for the win.”

In the first quarter, the Lady Blue Devils jumped out to an early lead by consistently getting the ball into the basket as they pulled ahead 16-5.

Escambia County continued their dominating run in the second quarter as they kept using their momentum to put points on the scoreboard outscoring the Lady Jaguars 11-6.

At the half, the Lady Blue Devils held a commanding 27-11 lead.

Atmore put the game away in the fourth quarter as they put their foot on the gas and never looked back outscoring the Lady Jaguars 15-7 to come away with the 49-32 win.
