BRATT, Fla. – The Rev. Henry Floyd Coleman, 85, of Bratt, Fla. died Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2011 in Jay, Fla.
He was a Freewill Baptist Church minister for 60 years, pastoring several churches in the area. He was born in Bratt, Fla. to the late Richard Thomas and Carrie Long Coleman on June 7, 1925, and was also a member of the Shiloh Freewill Baptist Church in Bratt, Fla. He was the owner and operator with his wife of the Singer Sewing Center in Atmore.
His sister, Evelyn Salter, and a brother, Huey F. Coleman, preceded him in death.
Survivors include his loving wife of 65 years, Essie Wiggins Coleman, of Bratt, Fla.; two daughters, Linda Coleman Lee and husband, Billy, of Lake City, Fla. and Karen Coleman Leonardi and husband, Ben, of Ft. Walton, Fla.; one brother, James Richard Coleman of Belton, Texas; three sisters, Francis Jordan and Betty Price, both of Pensacola, Fla. and Faye Pfeiffer of Gainesville, Fla.; five grandchildren, Dr. Jeffrey Lee, Chief Petty Officer Christopher Tyson, Dr. Jason Lee, Leda Broxson and Aaron Moring; 10 great grandchildren; four sisters-in-laws, Glyndal Robbins, Jessie Wiggins, Thelma Holley and Bobbie Coleman and special friends, Marlin and Bertha Metzler.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 17, 2011 from Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Kevin Stott and Bro. Ted Bridges officiating. Interment will follow in Godwin Cemetery.
Active pallbearers are Marlin Metzler, Darrell Holly, Gregory Robbins, Brian Robbins, Clyde Pfeiffer and Billy Coleman.
Family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until service time on Thursday, Feb.17, 2011 from Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel.
