Escambia County Blue Devil Tyler Nero received his third offer on Wednesday morning with the Florida State University Seminoles becoming the most recent team interested in the defensive lineman’s talents.

Along with the offer from Florida State, Nero has received offers from the University of Illinois and South Alabama.

Nero’s head coach, Mark Heaton, said the offer came by way of former Auburn quarterback Dameyune Craig who is now the running backs coach at FSU.

“Dameyune Craig called from Florida State this morning and said they watched film on Tyler as a staff,” he said. “They liked what they saw and decided to offer him.”

Along with hearing from Craig this morning, Nero and Heaton also heard from coaches with Clemson, Auburn and Alabama.

Heaton said that this will be a long important process for Nero.

“It’s a process that takes time,” he said. “They are looking to fill needs for their teams and Tyler is one guy that they are all interested in. He is working hard in the weight room and the classroom to make sure he is the right player for each program.”
