Cougars slip past Northview 4-3

The Escambia Academy Cougars won both of their games this week beating the Northview Chiefs 4-3 on Thursday and the Sparta Academy Warriors 10-2 on Tuesday.

The Cougars (4-4, 0-1) are now 2-0 since Heath Gibson took over as head coach for their game on Tuesday.

In their game with the Chiefs, the Cougars were down 2-1 starting the bottom of the sixth, but rattled off three runs to take the lead 4-2.

After holding the Chiefs to one run in the final inning, the Cougars were able to come away with the win.

On Tuesday, the EA Cougars dominated the Warriors from Sparta as they scored four runs in the third inning, three in the fourth, two in the fifth and one in the sixth.

The Warriors earned their only runs in the fifth inning as the Cougars were able to crush them 10-2.

The Cougars next game will be on Monday at Central (Fla.) High School.

Games begin at 4 p.m. with the junior varsity.
