Hazel Lymon Brooks

ATMORE – Mrs. Hazel Lymon Brooks, 77, of Atmore transitioned into eternal rest on Thursday, March 24, 2011 at a local hospital.
She was a native of Owassa (Conecuh Co.) and had been a resident of Atmore for most of her life. She attended the Escambia Co. Training School. She was a homemaker and a Patient Care Assistant in Home Health Care profession. She was a member of the Second Mt. Triumph Baptist Church, where she was an Usher and member of the Matrons. She was also a member of the Atmore Marathon Club.
Her husband, Spencer Brooks; her mother, Donnie Lymon Williams; her father, Parker Lymon; two sons, Larry Brooks and Garry Brooks; one daughter, Walteena Brooks and one sister, Olean Davis preceded her in death.
Those left to cherish her memories are two daughters, Physel Johnson of Los Angeles, Calif. and Risa Brooks of Atmore; six sons, Walter Brooks, Jerry Brooks and Kenneth Brooks, all of Atmore, Lester Brooks of Augusta, Ga. Stevie Brooks of Montgomery and Vincent Brooks of Dallas, Texas; one brother, Willie Lymon of Los Angeles, Calif.; 15 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
Celebration of Life service will be held at noon Thursday, March 31, 2011 at the Second Mt. Triumph Baptist Church with the Rev. Michael Jackson, eulogist and the Rev. Joe L. Hayes, host pastor. Inhumation will be in the Stallworth Cemetery. Public viewing will be held from 2 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. today, March 30, 2011 at the funeral home and her body will lie instate at the Church one hour prior to services.
