Athletics pick up first win over Shockers 11-7

The Atmore Advance Athletics earned their first win last Saturday defeating the Tri-Co Electric Shockers 11-7 in Cal Ripken T-ball action at Tom Byrne Park.

The Shockers opened the game with a strong first inning as they scored five runs with Tyler Ragan, Will Smith, Christopher Johnson, Exavion Bradley and Brodie Phillips all crossing the plate.

After holding the Athletics scoreless in the bottom of the first inning, the Shockers added a run with Ragan scoring giving them a 6-0 lead.

The A’s bounced back in the bottom of the second with eight runs scoring as Ann Elise Classen, Ethan Prestridge, D.J. Nichols, Forrest Jones, Charlie Sasser, Elliot Classen, Judson Lee and Lorenzo Arnold each touching home plate.

The A’s finally held the Shockers scoreless in the third inning and extended their lead with their turn at the plate as Ryan Odom, Jones and Sasser each scoring to put the A’s on top 11-6.

The Shockers were able to score one final run in the fourth inning with Charles Weaver crossing the plate.
