Football season kicks off on Friday night as two of Atmore’s area high schools will be in competition.
The Escambia Academy Cougars open up their regular season on the road by traveling to Sparta Academy in Evergreen. The Cougars and Warriors kick off at 7 p.m.
In exhibition action, the Escambia County Blue Devils host the Linden Patrios in a jamboree game at Herbert Barnes Stadium. The Blue Devils and Patriots begin their game at 6 p.m.
