Lady Cougars shut down Jackson Academy 3-0

The Escambia Academy Lady Cougars varsity volleyball team picked up its first victory of the season on Tuesday defeating the Jackson Academy Lady Eagles.

The Lady Cougars (1-1, 0-1) won the match in three straight games. In the first game, the Lady Cougars edged out the Lady Eagles 25-22.

The second and third games were won at a larger advantage with the Lady Cougars winning 25-14 in game two and 25-17 in the third and final game.

Following the completion of the varsity game, the Lady Cougars’ junior varsity defeated the Lady Eagles two games to one, winning the final two games.

In the first game, the Lady Eagles beat the Lady Cougars 21-25, but the Lady Cougars would bounce back to win the final two games 25-15 and 15-8.

The Lady Cougars get a nice break before their next match on Sept. 12. In the next match, Escambia Academy will travel into Florida to take on the Jay Lady Royals in doubleheader for the varsity squad.

The junior varsity will get things stared at 4:30 p.m. in Jay, Fla.
