Lady Cougars lose three matches

The Escambia Academy Lady Cougars volleyball team played three matches in a two-day span this week taking on Sumter and Jackson academies Monday and facing region foe Clarke Prep on Tuesday.

The Lady Cougars finished 0-3 in their early week matches falling to Sumter 1-3, Jackson 1-3 and Clarke Prep 0-3.

In their match against Sumter Academy, the Lady Cougars won the first match 25-17, but fell in games two through four losing 16-25, 17-25 and 25-27.

The Lady Cougars faced the Jackson Academy Lady Eagles in their second match on Monday winning the first match 25-18, but falling again in three straight games. The Lady Cougars lost game two 17-25, game three 25-27 and game four 22-25.

On Tuesday, the Lady Cougars took on the Clarke Prep Lady Gators in a region match, but fell in three consecutive games. The Lady Gators defeated the Lady Cougars 25-18, 25-20 and 25-21.

The Lady Cougars next match will be Thursday at home against Atmore Christian School. The match begins at 4 p.m.
