ECMS Lady Eagles fall to Bay Minette 31-13

Escambia County’s Lady Eagles dropped a game to the Bay Minette Lady Tigers on Thursday night falling 31-13 in Bay Minette.

The Lady Eagles (1-3) fell behind early and never gained any momentum as the Lady Tigers cruised to a victory.

In the first quarter, Bay Minette dominated the competition at both ends of the court as they outscored the Lady Tigers 13-5.

Bay Minette continued to control the game in the second period as they added five points on the scoreboard and held ECMS to two points to go into halftime leading 18-7.

Following halftime, the Lady Eagles fell further behind with their offense only scoring six points in the second half.

In the third quarter, the Lady Eagles had trouble getting any points on the board as they only scored one points off of a free throw, but gave up six to the Lady Tigers.

In the fourth quarter, the Lady Tigers extended their lead again outscoring ECMS 7-5 to pick up the 31-13 win.

The Lady Eagles were led in the contest by Jaquanda Webster’s six points, while Damia Mosley added four points. Jade Adams rounded out the scoring with three points.

The Lady Eagles next game will be Monday on the road at Fairhope Middle School. Games begin at 4:30 p.m.

 

Daphne 29

ECMS 21

With Daphne making a trip to Atmore, the Escambia County Lady Eagles faced another tough opponent and were defeated 29-21 on Tuesday.

The Lady Eagles (1-2) held their own against the Lady Trojans, but a scoreless third quarter put them in a deep hole.

In the first quarter, each team had trouble getting many points on the board as Daphne outscored ECMS 6-3.

The Lady Eagles bounced back in the second period outscoring the Lady Trojans 7-6 to go into halftime down 12-10.

Following halftime, the Lady Eagles fell out of contention after not putting up any points in the third period. The Lady Trojans took advantage of the scoreless quarter by scoring 10 points to pull ahead 22-10.

In the fourth period, the Lady Eagles tried to comeback out scoring the Lady Trojans 11-7, but ran short of time as they fell 29-21.

Jaquand Webster led the Lady Eagles in the loss scoring seven points and recording three steals. Lady Eagles Jade Adams and Damia Mosley added six points each.

Lady Eagle Sherese Craft led ECMS in rebounds with seven and scored two points.
