Escambia Academy’s Lady Cougars junior varsity picked up a win on Monday night beating the Crenshaw Christian Lady Cougars 24-12 on the road at Crenshaw.

The EA Lady Cougars (3-1, 0-0) picked up the win by dominating the middle of the contest keeping Crenshaw’s scoring opportunities to a minimum.

In the first quarter, the two teams clawed on both ends of the court with the score being tied at five at the buzzer.

Escambia Academy pulled out in front with a strong second quarter as they outscored Crenshaw 6-2 to move into halftime ahead 11-7.

After halftime ended, the EA Lady Cougars continued to cruise to victory with another strong quarter of play.

In the third period, Escambia Academy almost kept Crenshaw’s Lady Cougars off of the scoreboard as they outscored them 7-1 to take a 10-point lead into the fourth.

Escambia Academy put the finishing touches on their victory with a six-point fourth quarter and held Crenshaw to four points to earn the 24-12 win.

The EA Lady Cougars were led in the game by Claire Dawe’s 11 points. Dawe also had two steals and a rebound.

Escambia Academy’s Anna Catherine Sasser led the Lady Cougars with nine rebounds and also had two points and a steal.
