ECHS teams open January with wins

Escambia County High School’s varsity Blue Devils and Lady Blue Devils kicked off area play on Tuesday night hosting the UMS-Wright Bulldogs and Lady Bulldogs in action at ECHS.
The Blue Devils opened up their run for a second straight area title with a 48-35 victory over the Bulldogs.

In the Lady Blue Devils match up, the game was heated back-and-forth for four quarters as ECHS had a late run to pull away for a 38-30 win over UMS-Wright.
Both teams will continue with area play on Friday as they travel to Mobile to take on B.C. Rain.
Games begin at 4:30 p.m. with the junior varsity boys.
