Escambia Academy crushes Sparta 64-37

The Cougars of Canoe earned an impressive road victory on Tuesday night crushing the Sparta Academy Warriors 64-37 in Evergreen.
The Cougars easily won the match up as they held the advantage in all four quarters of the game.
Escambia Academy opened the game strong by jumping out to a 12-6 lead in the opening quarter of the contest.
The Cougars followed up with even more points in the second quarter as they outscored the Warriors 22-17 to roll into halftime leading 34-17.
After the break, EA kept dominating on both ends of the court to cruise to the win.
In the third quarter, the Cougars poured more points on the scoreboard outscoring the Warriors 14-12 to go into the final quarter leading 48-29.
Escambia Academy finished off Sparta in the final quarter going on a 16-8 run in the final eight minutes to get the 27-point win.
Cougar Darren McGhee led the team in the victory with 14 points and 11 rebounds.
Jordan Sasser and Brandon Goddard added 12 points apiece. Sasser also had four rebounds and two assists, while Goddard posted three rebounds and a steal.
Garrett Kirk scored eight points in the win to go along with five rebounds.
Josh Peebles, Robert Whatley, Bryant Lambert and Jaylen Henry all scored four points for Escambia Academy.
The Cougars next game will be Monday at home against Jackson Academy. Games begin at 4 p.m.
