Legislative update – Baker sponsors first passed bill

The Alabama House has passed its first bill of the 2012 legislative session — and it is one sponsored by Rep. Alan Baker, R-Brewton.

The bill changes the name of the Alabama Development Office — the state’s industry recruitment agency — to the Department of Commerce.

The bill passed 94-1 on Thursday.
