With a trip to Birmingham on the line, the Escambia County Blue Devils return to the South Regional Tournament in Mobile this Thursday, the place where their season ended one year ago.

The No. 4 Blue Devils (25-4, 6-0) go into the regional facing the Brewbaker Tech Rams (18-9) where a win could earn them a trip to the regional finals on Saturday.

Against the Rams, the Blue Devils will face a team loaded with scorers led by guard Steven Rogers (20 ppg) and Lorenzo Moore (17 ppg).

The Ram also have several players over six-feet tall with forwards Hayden Ford and Paul Harris measuring in a 6’6”.

With a strong offensive opponent in on deck for Thursday, Blue Devils head coach Jerome Webster said he has ECHS focused on nothing but this game.

“Moving into the game against Brewbaker, I want the boys focused on this one game,” he said. “We are going to concentrate on playing strong defense and improving our rebounding and free throws.”

The Blue Devils will now play Brewbaker Tech in the regional tournament at the University of South Alabama’s Mitchell Center in Mobile. The game is scheduled to begin at 4:30 p.m.
