EA ready for volleyball season

The Escambia Academy volleyball team is off to a strong start for the 2012 season. Head coach Erica Hammonds confirmed the Lady Cougars won their first game on Aug. 20 against Central Christian in three matches. The team played their first regional game of the season Aug. 21 against Autauga Academy.
Other confirmed matches involve the Lady Cougars traveling to Jay, Fla. to face Jay High School Sept. 11 with the game set to begin at 5:30 p.m. The team will also face conference opponent Clarke Prep School in Grove Hill on Sept. 17 at 6 p.m. More games are scheduled, but dates and times have yet to be confirmed. The team also has a chance to play in the Alabama Independent School Association State Volleyball Tournament, which will be held at Faulkner University in Montgomery on Oct. 20.
