The Escambia County High School Boys basketball team defeated J.F. Shields earlier this week by a final score of 70-67.

The team’s overall record is now 3-3.

Head coach Earlando Courtney credited his assistant coaches with suggesting key defensive adjustments during the half that ended up helping the team come away with the win.

Courtney said his defensive adjustments against Monroe County earlier this season may not have been the ideal choice, but he is hopeful the team will be able to play another close game and get the win this time around when they play them on the road this upcoming Saturday, Dec. 8.

The Varsity Boys game is preceded by the Varsity Girls team and the JV Boys team with first tip-off beginning at 4:30 p.m.
