Lawrence F. Vickery, 76, of Molino, Fla., passed away Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2012.

He was born on Dec. 11, 1936, in Atmore. He loved the Lord as his personal savior. He served in the United States Marine Corps. He retired from Armstrong World Industries after 40 years. He coached baseball for 12 years at Brent Ball Park. He loved to hunt and fish and met every morning for coffee with his Molino friends at Hammers Trolling Motors and Fran’s Country Grill.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Bunk and Myrtle Vickrey, of Atmore He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Levane Parmer Vikrey, of Molino; daughter, Carol Rodgers (Earl) of Molino; son, Kevin Vickrey (Suzanne), of Molino; sisters, Nell Owens (Alvin) of Atmore; grandsons, Hunter Vickrey of Molino and Michael Sanderson (Shane) of Bay Minette; granddaughter, Amanda Sanderson, of Pensacola, Fla.; two great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

Pallbearers will be Hunter Vickrey, Michael Sanderson, Brannon Parmer, Todd Vickrey, Danny Vickrey and Mike Fayard. Honorary Pallbearers will be Howard Sutton, Harold Holder, Robert Kennedy, Donnie Nichilson, Charls Barton, Marshall Fant, Jackie McCaskill, Jim Maddox and Charlie Freisinger.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in the name of Lawrence Vickrey to Emerald Coast Hospice, 1555 North Palafox Street, Pensacola, FL 32501.

Visitation was held Friday, Dec. 21, 2012, from 6 until 8 p.m. at Faith Chapel Funeral Home North.

Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 22, 2012, at Highland Baptist Church with the Rev. Brian Calhoun and Minister Kay Vickrey officiating. Interment followed at the church cemetery.

Faith Chapel Funeral Home North, 1000 Hwy 29S, Cantonment, FL was in charge of arrangements.
