Warhawks remain winless

Facing off against Marion Military Monday night on the road in their first game of 2013 and first since Dec. 8, the Jefferson Davis Community College Warhawk basketball team remained winless with a 59-52 loss.
With the loss, the Warhawks saw their record fall to 0-10 this season.
JDCC was outscored by five points in the first half of play Monday night, 27-22, and was outscored 32-30 in the second half to take the loss by seven points.
“We lost, but played our best game of the season, with the most pride and passion that we have displayed yet,” JDCC head coach Allen Gainer said.
Fletcher Forte had 18 points for JDCC while Dee Jay Braggs had 15 points with 10 rebounds.
No other stats or information from the game was known as of press time Tuesday. See Saturday’s paper for a complete recap of the game as well as JDCC’s home game Thursday against Alabama Southern.
JDCC is scheduled to be back in action at home on Thursday, Jan. 10 against Alabama Southern. The game will be the first conference game of the year for the Warhawks and is scheduled to tip at 7 p.m.
Following a road game at Wallace-Selma on Monday, Jan. 14, the Warhawks will travel to Andalusia on Thursday, Jan. 17 for a 7 p.m. tip against LBW. JDCC will be back in action at home on Tuesday, Jan. 22 when they take on Chattahoochee Valley.
All games are conference games for the Warhawks.
