The Escambia County High School Blue Devils boys basketball team beat Monroe County 87-65 Friday night in Atmore to advance to the Class 4A regional tournament in Dothan.

Fred Knight led the team with 26 points, while Desmond Williams had 23.

ECHS trailed 22-18 at the end of the first quarter. The Blue Devils led 35-31 at the half. MCHS cut the lead to one at  51-50 at the end of the third before being out scored 36-15 in the fourth.

Monroe County had previously defeated ECHS twice this season before dropping the subregional march.
