Solid pitching helped Escambia Academy clinch the second seed in the region with a 2-1 win over Fort Dale Academy Friday.

EA pitcher Michael Thompson threw  102 pitches in 10 innings.

EA hitters collected eight hits and scored two runs.

Tristan McAnally walked and stole second in the bottom of the 10th before Brett Gorum hit a single to score him for the game-winner.
