Cardinals win 14-7 in tee-ball action

The Alto Products Cardinals defeated the West Alabama Utilities Blue Flames 14-7 in tee-ball action from Friday, May 31 at Tom Byrne Park.

The Cardinals scored four runs in the top of the first inning when Natayla Kidd, Caliente McCants, Kaliyah McCants and Brody Baker plated.

The Blue Flames added two runs in the bottom half of the inning when Nyzavion French and Kayla Jordan plated. The Cards led 4-2 at the end of one.

The Cardinals scored two more runs in the top of the second when Myasia Hooks and Amarion Lemon plated. The Blue Flames matched those two runs in the bottom half with scores by Eli Covington and Joshua Lowery. The Cardinals led 6-4 after two.

Kaliyan McCants, Baker, Hooks and Iman Lemon all scored in the top of the third to give the Cards a 10-4 lead. Covington added a run in the bottom of the inning for the Blue Flames to cut the lead to 10-5.

Caliente McCants, Quay McCants and Kaliyan McCants helped the Cardinals take a 14-5 lead in the top of the fourth. The Blue Flames added two runs in the last half inning, but lost 14-7.

Shockers beat Nailers

The Tri-Co Electric Shockers beat the Cornerstone Homebuilders Nailers 14-10 in tee-ball action from Friday, May 31.

The Shockers scored almost half of their points in the top of the first inning. Ronta Watson, Jay Robinson, Brodie Phillips, Jamarion Hooks, Harper Harrison, Braden Phillips and Antonio Brenton all plated for the Shockers.

The Nailers scored four runs in the bottom of the inning. Braiden Walker, Braden Glick, Tanner Sanspree and Will Strawbridge plated. The Shockers led 7-4 at the end of one.

Brodie Phillips, Hooks, Harper Harrison and Braden Phillips scored again for the Shockers to give them 11 runs in the first two innings.

The Nailers cut the lead to 11-9 in the bottom of the second. Braleigh Lambert, Glick, Sanspree, Strawbridge and Shawn McBridge all scored.

The Shockers scored three runs in the top of the third when Watson, Robinson and Brodie Phillips plated. Sanspree scored for the Nailers in the bottom half of the inning.
