The state Cal Ripken Tee-Ball Tournament got into full swing today at 9 a.m. with Atmore taking on a powerful team from Monrovia.

The Monrovia American team beat Atmore 25-15 in four innings. The Poarch All-Stars also played, but lost 25-14 to Sylacauga.

Both teams play again with Poarch taking on Attalla at 4 p.m. and Atmore taking on Ashland at 5:45 at Tom Byrne Park.

Action continues Sunday with Atmore taking on Westside at 10:45 a.m. and Poarch battling Theodore at 12:30 p.m.
